How to correctly read the marking on the masks?


According to Directive EN149:2001 - A1:2009 (EN 149-A1)

There is a first classification that indicates when to change them
- Nr : non-reusable (disposable for a duration of 8 hours)
- R : reusable (depending on the condition of the mask)

The acronym must be reported on the mask as well as the filtering power : FFP1, FFP2, FFP3

The marking can also contain the letter "D": Indicates the dolomite powder test and measure its clogging (required for R-ones)

NR devices must undergo numerous tests to prove their strength and effectiveness:
climate conditioning assessment
efficiency test (FFP acronym)

Reusable mask
In R masks, the tests are also tested for hygiene, efficiency and storage, clogging tests (letter D)
